At the beginning of 2013 mmrtg|architekten were on the look to find a modern office space for our client, bouwfonds investment management. After analyzing a variety of spaces in exposed buildings such as the “Kranzler Eck” or at Leipziger Platz, finally an exposed office space on the first floor of the newly restored BIKINI Berlin was selected.

For an investment company operating on an international level, this location offers an inspiring framework for their working environment. The aim for the design was to develop an innovative office concept, based on the shared-desk-principle. mmrtg|architekten turned this into a variety of environments – “ocean”, “jungle” and “savanna”, thus incorporating the special location at the Berliner Zoo. This resulted in a diversified working space with communication zones, such as the “social hub”, but also numerous distinct possibilities of retreat.
